My Info.
Glad you popped into my info page. Just briefly my name is Tui.
I'm 29 and from New Zealand. You just want to find out how I got to all
these places. The answer is simple. I'm sure you guessed from the images
on my home page.
Yes I worked on a cruise ship (4 to date) as a croupier
in the casino. Great life. As the casinos are not allowed to be
opened in port I never have to work when the ship is docked. Lots of
free time to go and explore. The only bad part is that the ship is
never in one place long enough. That's why the photos are all really
touristy.
How did I end up working on the ships. Well it took a bit of
time but it was worth it in the end. I started work in the Auckland casino
when it first opened in 1996. I had to go through the interviews and
training in 1995. Not easy as I had a full time job already and so had
to go to training after work. Four hours a day, 5 days a week for 4
weeks and that was just to learn Black Jack. Dealing is definitely not
as easy or as glamorous as it looks.
Anyway I worked in Auckland for 9 months and then headed off to the UK for my O.E (overseas experience).
Within a week I had a croupier job in Edinburgh. Had a good time and
made some great friends. I was there for almost 18 months and then I
decided it was time to head down to London. I was only there for 6 weeks
when I had a decision to make. Summer in London, or summer cruising
around the Greek Islands as a croupier on a cruise ship. Not a tough
decision. I had always wanted to see the Greek islands.
That was in June 1998 and since then I have cruised around Scandinavian and the
Baltic, the Med, the Greek islands, through the Middle East and onto
Singapore. I also had the opportunity to live in Cairo for 5 months.
And that's the story so far. At the moment I'm waiting to be told my
start date of my next contract.
